In 1999, Sharpe Pursuits Incorporated began with the vision of several talented college students who wanted to change the face of entertainment at North Carolina A&T State University. Desmond Sharpe, the company president, spear headed the efforts, in an attempt to create a versatile company that answered the entertainment needs of college-aged individuals.  Initially, the company focused on on-campus entertainment, especially dances and parties, but quickly expanded into various aspects of the music industry and special events.  The combined concept of limitless thinking and relentless determination has enabled the comspear headedelop unique divisions focusing on, disc jockey services, graphic design, event planning, audio systems and concert production.

 

For the past eight years, Sharpe Pursuits Incorporated has been recognized as a professional, multi-faceted company, founded upon diligence and excellence.   The company is a minority owned and operated organization that conducts its activity out of Greensboro, North Carolina.   Our service is motivated by experience and the willingness to complete all projects in a cost effective manner.  The one-person operation has grown into a business with seven team members and seasonal contract employees during peak times.  Although small in number, our staff provides guidance and expertise, from conception to completion, sustaining quality control throughout the event using the latest technology.  In addition, our employees are constantly encouraged to brainstorm beyond the imaginable; therefore, they believe that all things are possible.

 

A majority of our business is generated from local promoters and other small business owners.  Annually, the DJ division handles events ranging from birthday parties to large wedding receptions.  Typically, a month’s worth of design projects includes designing marketing and promotional materials pertaining to special events and other forms of entertainment and helping businesses to create a corporate identity .  The design service is fully comprehensive and includes an initial concept meeting, initial design, proofing, editing, printing, and delivery of the final product to the client.  In addition, the company is constantly providing audio systems, technical support services and disc jockey equipment rentals to private organizations, other sound companies, and special event venues.  The event planning aspect of Sharpe Pursuits Incorporated handles the logistics of planning special events.  The concert production division is most busy during college homecoming season (typically October through November of each year).

 

Future endeavors include expanding our client base into other regions of the United States and eventually embracing the international scene.  A majority of our present clients have been referred to the company via word-of-mouth: therefore we truly understand the value of positive feedback. In the near future, we wish to create more relationships with governmental agencies, schools, municipalities and larger companies throughout the United States.
