Sharpe Pursuits Incorporated (SP3 for short) is a full-service event production company founded in 1999 by Desmond Sharpe. The business began as a DJ company that focused on college events in the greater Greensboro market. In the Fall 1999, Desmond decided to enter into graduate school, which provided the freedom to still advance the company without the confines of a traditional job.

Over the next few years the graphics and sound divisions were created as customers began to request additional services and a streamlined pricing structure. The production and lighting areas were later added to provide better solutions to events that needed additional production services.

Prior to one event, the company's trailer, full of equipment was stolen. The contents had been removed and approximately one year later, the trailer itself was recovered. Even though contents have been lost, this was a major learning experinece for SP3. During that year, we were forced to work with other vendors in order to maintain the company. We learned that strategic alliances and the right connections always triumph. This is a lesson that we have never forgotten, and still remains an integral part of our business practice.

In 2005, the event planning department began to develop, allowing our clients to deal with one vendor for all their event needs.

In 2007, the company moved into it's first office location, and also hired its first employee, other than the owner. The transition was a stretch in many aspects, but thanks to peope like Michael Woods of Ashtae products, the company was no longer a hobby.

Following the marriage of Shayla and Desmond in 2007, the events divisions received an upgrade and the productions kept growing. Shayla became the next full time employee in 2008 and currently manages most of the event logisitics.

To date, the company is involved in all types of events. When someone asks, "What do you do?" we grin and happily respond, "Everything event related..." We cover a large array of services that range from assisting with a 1st birthday party, to producing an event with 10,000 screaming fans.

What keeps us going? Our ambition and excitement. We are constantly searching for our next challenge and really enjoy surpassing our client's expectations. This excitement is matched by all of our contractors and staff. We honestly believe that the only limitations in life are those that you place upon yourself.
